During his lifetime, Władysław Borzęcki created many works that fall under the "Applied and Decorative Art" category. His works demonstrate the artist's great appreciation and respect for the raw material, i.e. wood, used for his carvings. He always incorporated wood imperfections, coarseness, and natural shapes into his works of art, including applied and decorative art.
Władysław Borzęcki skillfully expressed his love for nature and his belief that nature was an integral component of human life by incorporating natural elements into objects of everyday use e.g. ...flower motifs decorating furniture or other objects of everyday use. Simplicity, extracted directly out of traditional folk design, has been elevated to a very high level by the artist from Sromowce Niżne. Here, chairs are a good example of the use of the natural properties of wood. Forked limbs become a natural back-rest. Highly decorated chests display the artist’s soft spot for floral motifs.
