Religious art was an important aspect of Władysław Borzęcki's creative life. Having lost his mother in his early teens, Władysław developed a deep sense of compassion for others and understanding of human suffering early in his life. As an artist, he expressed both qualities through his works of art depicting Jesus Christ and His Mother, Mary, their Mother-Son love, and the pain relating to Christ's suffering and death.
